Assalamualaikum sisters and brothers of SEMSALD..
I guess SPM is really around the corner, i still remember back in my times when its already approaching SEPTEMBER, i was like panicked already because it is only two month before the SPM! Can you feel the butterflies in your stomach? hehe, if u don't, do feel as SPM is no playing matter!
Well, have you covered all of the syllabus? PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY, BIOLOGY, MATH and other subjects?
How about English? hehehe~ well, i'm doing this post because i care about u guys, n sorry because i don't have so much time to help in giving samples of essays, but this is the least i could do. Just some tips that i think you could use, because i done these things and hope it works for u guys too!
1) First things first, know the format of the ENGLISH paper well, and i do meant u must know it very well. I'm just giving the general idea so that u can figure out what i meant. Well, we do know English paper have two paper, paper 1 and paper 2. If i'm not mistaken paper 1 is the writing part and paper 2 is the everything besides writing, right? So, know your strength. Calculate your marks earlier so that you know which part that you can score. Do u get it? (okay, allow me to use shortform ya? hehe) Kalau x paham boleh kol akak kayh.. hehe..
Its simple actually, if u think u can get high marks in writing, then do all out in writing! but don't forget to score for paper 2 also, since its the first time for all of u in the literature part, don't hope that much mark on the literature, because anyhting can come out. Focus on your grammar, rational cloze question, other than the literature part, but don't ignore it altogether. STUDY JE SMUA... hehe~ tapi rasanya kluar senang2 kot literature tahun ne, first timer kan~
2) Okay, after u know ur strength, then u can build strategy. I guess u guys had did tons of exercise right? go through it all over again, if u hav doubt, meet ur teachers, ask them why u got this mark, how to improve, or ask ur friends that has excellent English to help u. If u malas sgt nak write essay, pinjam essay kawan yg superb mantap or ask teacher sample of great essays, kak rasa essay aswan ada kot dlm simpanan teacher, essay abang aswan kamu superb2 gila dowh.. hehe
3) Make use of the idiom and phrasal verb , and don't forget the bombastic words. hehe~ i really like including all these in my essays, but if u don't know how, just make ur essays less grammatical error and keep it organised and balanced ( i mean by the length of paragraph) and dont forget, make sure when u read it u can find the key point for each paragraph (ignore if you write on stories)
4) For me, i like factual essay as i'm not really creative in writing stories. but then, in SPM i write story lol~ but a fact-story actually, as i write fact about someone i know... and just spice it up.. haha.. but really, identify ur writing style. do u like facts or stories? then, once u know, stick to it. two months before my SPM i tend to write stories but i didnt get much mark. But, when i write facts or opinion, i actually scored more!
5) If you wanna play safe, write opinion based essay, for example the one word essay, i really like the one word essay as u can do anything with it. example, HOME. You can describe about your home, your dream home, or your opinion about home. or even, about a people named HOME!
6) For paper two part, i think paper two is quite easy, so, u can ask your teacher regarding paper 2, i'm sure they had tell u everything about paper two.
English is really fun actually, back in my times my favourite class would be English, because of the teacher, Mr AHMAD, the coolest English teacher i'd ever known. hehe~ and the fact that i never feel stressed in English class as i always love english, now and forever... seyh~ haha...
7) Oh yeah, i dont advice u guys to memorize or shud i say hafal esssay,, bcoz anything can pop out of da blue, what if da essay dat u hafal x kluar?? haru dowh..seyh.. what i can say, write betul2 in part A of the essay, and then write cam besa in part B, no need to be too lengthy (ok jgn guna word ne, lengthy, i'm just writing it ikut suka) haha.. just 6 to 7 paragraph is fine. hehe~
